Snow removal is not a flat or predictable service. Each storm differs in snowfall rate, accumulation, temperature, and refreezing conditions. Because of this variability, snow removal is billed based on measurable snowfall amounts, service timing, and access conditions. Complications such as heavy wet snow, ice buildup, sleet, freezing rain, drifting snow, repeated melting/refreezing, and hard-packed snow from vehicle traffic or municipal plows can significantly increase the difficulty, time, and materials required to perform the service safely and effectively.
All standard residential snow removal services include Driveway, Walkway to front door, Sidewalks* and Ice melt application
Trigger Amounts - 1"-2.9" or 3"-5.9" or 6"-8.9"
Auto Snow Removal - Choose your “trigger amount”. We would come, approximately, every trigger amount and you will be charged for every time we show up. Includes ice melt. From November 15 to March 31st.
Example: If your trigger amount is 2” & we get 6 inches of snow; we would come 3 times and you would pay for 3 visits.
Auto Snow Removal Season Pre-pay - With this option you would pre-pay a 30% discounted rate for a pre set number of visits based on trigger amount whether it snows or not, from November 15 to March 31st. Any service after the pre set amount would continue at the 30% discounted rate and you would be billed for each additional service after the pre set number of contract visits. Choose your “trigger amount”. We would come, approximately, every trigger amount. Includes ice melt. De-icing can be substituted in place of your snow removal visit(s), if requested. The preset visits are as follows 1"-2.9” trigger: 6 visits, 3''-5.9'’ trigger: 4 visits, 6"-8.9” trigger: 2 visits.
End of Storm – Choose your "trigger amount". If the snow total exceeds the trigger amount we would come approx. one time at the end of each snow day, or every 8.9”, whichever one occurs 1st. Includes ice melt. You will be billed based on the total amount of snow at the end of the storm. The end of storm will be determined on a daily basis depending on the storm and the weather conditions. We will decide for each storm when the end will apply due to melting and refreezing and the difficulty of removal of snow and ice.
Example: If your trigger amount is 4” & we get 7'' of snow; we would come 1 time and you would pay for 1 visit of 6’’-8.9’’ snow removal.
Sidewalks* - Sidewalks are not included under the following circumstances:
If street plows push snow onto the sidewalks or if sidewalks are icy.
If you would like sidewalk service included under these conditions, it can be provided for an additional charge.
Blocked driveway - If street access from your driveway is blocked with hard packed snow and ice from street plows we can remove this for an additional charge.
Deicing Only - Our deicing only option does Not include any snow removal. It is spreading one application of magnesium chloride (MAG) ice-melt on driveways, sidewalks, steps and walkways to front door. MAG Ice-melt is formulated to be the least harmful to stone or concrete. Rock salt is used for streets/pipestems and parking lots. If the snow melts & then refreezes we will be doing another application if you choose this service. Estimated price is for Each visit. Deicers (ice melt) are best used before ice forms, as they function best as an anti-icing agent (contrary to their name). Ice melt should be applied before precipitation freezes. This helps create a barrier between the driveway and the ice forming on top and will make the ice melt much more effective.
Email when needed – This is considered emergency service which is 30% more than the quoted prices. You will be at the end of the list with this option. If you wait to email us the day before it snows, when it is snowing or after the snow stops, you will be at the bottom of the list, as we will be doing all those that are on the Auto List, first. Snow removal includes ice melt.
36’’ Orange Snow Stakes - All edges of driveways, walkways and sidewalks must be marked with 36’’ orange snow stakes. Any obstacles must be marked with 36’’ orange snow stakes including sod, grass, mulch beds, decorative stone, curbs, roundabouts, islands, drain inlets, ect. All right of ways including driveways, walkways, and sidewalks must be clears of obstacles like hoses and wires. We are NOTresponsible for any damages if the obstacle is NOT marked with a 36’’ orange snow stake. We always do our best to avoid damage but if an obstacle can be covered by snow then the crews can NOT see it.
Paver Driveway - You MUST tell us if you have a paver driveway. We can NOT use snow plows on paver driveways without causing extensive damage. We will only use snow blowers and snow shovels on paver driveways. All edges of driveways, walkways and sidewalks must be marked with 36’’ orange snow stakes.
Gravel Driveway - Gravel driveways are the most difficult driveways to perform snow removal services. Snow plows are designed and wor best on hard surfaces like asphalt and concrete. When plowing hard surfaces like asphalt and concrete our plows are dropped all the way down, which allows them to go into “Float Mode”. When a plow is in “Float Mode” it is able to freely move left/right and Up/down without being held up by the hydraulics. This allows a plow to move up/down or left/right to follow the contours of your driveway. This is not the case with gravel driveways. If we do not raise our plows they will dig into the gravel driveways and cause extensive damage to the gravel driveway and surrounding areas. In order to plow a gravel driveway we must raise the plow. Once you have raised the plow any amount it is out of “Float Mode” and the hydraulics are now holding the plow in one fixed position. This does not allow any up/down or left/right movement, because of this, as we plow across a gravel driveway only the snow that comes in contact with the plow will be removed. We do our best to remove as much snow as possible from gravel driveways without damaging the gravel surface. This is extremely difficult on any curved part of the driveway. There may be a thin layer of snow left on gravel driveways or spots we can NOT go any lower without damaging the gravel driveway. All edges of driveways, walkways and sidewalks must be marked with 36’’ orange snow stakes.
Mailbox Access/ vehicle in street - Clearing snow around mailbox or around vehicles parked
in street is NOT included in snow removal services. The crews can remove snow around these obstacles for an additional cost. The services will be completed at time of snow removal and will be billed based on time. We are NOT responsible for any damage to vehicles if the crews are asked to remove snow on top of vehicles.
Snow Damage - All edges of driveways, walkway and sidewalks must be marked with a 36’’ orange snow stakes. Any obstacles must be marked with a 36’’ orange snow stake including sod, grass, mulch beds, decorative stone, curbs, roundabouts, islands, drain inlets, ect. We are NOT responsible for any damages if the obstacle is not marked with a 36’’ orange snow stake. Right of ways must be clears of obstacle including hoses and wires. We always do our best to avoid damage but if it can be buried by snow and is not marked, we can NOT see it. Any damage must be reported within 48 hours of service.
